Hi guys,
Its that time of year when most of us start thinking about the extra bit of weight we have put on over the festive period and looking forward to getting back into our routines. Here in Spain we are well into our winter training schedule now and we've been out planning some new and exciting routes for this season.
We've been busy too looking after a couple of young Elite/Pro riders. After a couple of easy recovery rides we thought they might appreciate a trip up the Sierra De Pila climb, (climbs out of Fortuna for 18 km with an average gradient of 4%) just a 35/40km ride from our base here in Algorfa.
It was a typical January day, sunny with temps getting into the mid teens by lunchtime, perfect climbing conditions as there is very little wind once we hit the lower slopes of the climb.
Jonathan who rides for SSLL in the UK enjoyed himself and said "it reminded me of my time in Monaco" He had previously been struggling to find his way around and had been itching to get into the countryside and experience some climbing.
Check out the Pictures in the slide show above of the day.
Cool pic of Jonathan on the way up.
A quick pit stop in Fortuna at the base of the Sierra de Pila...all looking forward to a cafe con leche.
Henrietta Colborne, who recently took the junior National TT 10 mile record by a massive 50 seconds is on the left in her new Swabo ladies kit.
At the top!!
